Police in Zabrze detained two young men suspected of attacking Hungarian fans in a local pizzeria.
Police in Zabrze have detained two young Polish supporters suspected of taking part in Wednesday's attack on Ferencváros fans.
The incident happened in a pizzeria
According to the Polish authorities, the two men aged 17 and 20 are suspected of attacking Hungarian supporters in a local pizzeria, endangering others and causing material damage to the premises. Police have asked the prosecutor's office to place the suspects in pre-trial detention and, at this stage of the investigation, do not rule out further arrests in connection with the disturbance.
A Hungarian supporter was injured
One Hungarian citizen was injured during the incident, which took place on the evening before Thursday's Górnik Zabrze v Ferencváros Europa League qualifier. According to the authorities the supporter was trying to escape the attack and injured his leg while climbing over a fence.
Ten Hungarian fans questioned
Police questioned ten Hungarian supporters as witnesses, though none of them filed an official complaint. The match played the following day ended in a 1-1 draw, which took Ferencváros through in the tie.
