Mavi has made denim in Istanbul since 1991 — the name is Turkish for blue — and is listed on the Turkish stock exchange. This is the brand's own US store; in America it sells mainly through Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's and Zappos, with a handful of its own shops on the East Coast, while worldwide it runs close to 500 stores.
