After LeBron James chose the Philadelphia 76ers, things could speed up around the rest of the NBA. Both Draymond Green and James Harden are waiting on new contracts.
After 24 days and countless rumours, LeBron James announced his free agency decision on Friday: he will spend the final chapter of his illustrious career with the Philadelphia 76ers. The news is a pleasant surprise for the Sixers, who became serious contenders after landing Jaylen Brown, and a painful blow for the Cavaliers, the Heat and the Warriors, all of whom had hoped to land him.
James's decision held up the rest of the NBA's business for more than three weeks, but now that his situation is settled, teams can focus on the rest of their offseason tasks. Suitors left empty-handed now have to turn to a limited "Plan B", which could kick-start the market for restricted free agents, which has been stagnant since Walker Kessler's trade to the LA Lakers.
