Juventus are looking for a goalkeeper and Andriy Lunin is on their list - a chance to play instead of sitting behind Courtois.
Another player could leave Real Madrid this summer. Juventus are searching for a goalkeeper and Andriy Lunin has made their shortlist. For the Ukrainian, a move offering regular football instead of waiting behind Thibaut Courtois could be appealing.
Lunin is one of Juve's candidates
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are tracking three goalkeepers. Their first choice is Zion Suzuki, but Lunin and Tottenham's Italy international Guglielmo Vicario have also been discussed. The Turin club are primarily thinking of a loan, meaning a one-season solution.
Suzuki's case is unusual, as PSG are currently working to sign him from Parma and could immediately loan him out. Juventus would happily take the Japanese keeper in that scenario; if the deal collapses, they would turn to Lunin.
The offer may already be with Real Madrid
The Italians would first have to convince Real Madrid to release their goalkeeper. Lunin's situation is not simple: his contract runs until the summer of 2030, so the Spanish club are under no pressure to sell. Reports suggest Lunin himself would prefer to stay in Madrid, though it remains unclear how much football he can get behind Courtois. He has played 74 competitive matches for the club in eight years.
He has already proven himself at Champions League level
Lunin was part of the 2022 Champions League-winning squad, and his best spell in Madrid came in the 2023-24 season. After Courtois's serious injury he took over and delivered a memorable performance in the quarter-final second leg against Manchester City, saving penalties from Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic in the shootout. Real went on to win the competition that season. The 27-year-old's market value is currently estimated at €12 million.
A decision could come within days
Juventus want to settle the goalkeeper question quickly, so the coming days may be decisive. Real Madrid must also consider that Fran González has already joined Sevilla, meaning they would need a new option behind Courtois if Lunin departs.
