Arsenal in talks for a star striker: Osimhen is the plan B if Álvarez falls through

Arsenal have not given up on Julián Álvarez, but they have also seriously assessed a move for Victor Osimhen.
According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal have still not given up on signing Julián Álvarez, even though the Atlético Madrid forward has repeatedly made it clear that he sees his future at FC Barcelona rather than in London. The Gunners' sporting director keeps in touch with the Argentine's representatives, but a plan B is already on his desk for the rest of the summer.
Osimhen on Arsenal's radar
The Telegraph reports that Arsenal are paying close attention to the possibility of signing Victor Osimhen. Mikel Arteta believes the Galatasaray striker would suit the team's style: he could rotate with Viktor Gyökeres or play alongside him, which matters in a season fought on three fronts.
Nwaneri could tip the balance
Arsenal's idea is to include Ethan Nwaneri in the deal. The young Englishman would be valued at around €40 million against Osimhen's fee of roughly €80 million, meaning the London club would only have to find the difference in cash. Such a structure could suit both sides: Galatasaray would receive a ready-made player plus significant income, while Arsenal would add a proven centre-forward.
Osimhen wants a return to a top league
Osimhen was in outstanding form last season, winning a second consecutive Turkish title with Galatasaray and registering 15 goals and 5 assists in the Süper Lig. He is a key man for Okan Buruk and a favourite of the fans, but sources close to him say he wants to return to one of Europe's major leagues. His name recently came up at Chelsea as well, so the London rivals may end up bidding against each other.
