Manchester United's transfer idea will hurt Liverpool

Manchester United supporters may be disappointed that the club has added only two players so far this summer: Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos. According to TEAMtalk, manager Michael Carrick wants more signings and has spoken openly about the squad not being strong enough for the club's goals. He said the team wants more and needs more, adding that they are constantly looking for opportunities and are well aware of the expectations they face.

Ibrahim Mbaye could arrive at Old Trafford

Citing internal sources, the outlet claims one of the targets is Paris Saint-Germain right winger Ibrahim Mbaye. The 18-year-old Senegalese forward has appeared in transfer stories all summer: Liverpool have been working on signing him for a long time and were long seen as clear favourites.

For United, the deal comes down to money, as PSG want €50 million for the player. Analysts believe that if the Red Devils are willing to pay, they have a good chance of beating a Liverpool side that has looked hesitant in recent weeks - especially as United can also offer regular minutes.

The other candidate: Nicolo Tresoldi

The second name on the list is Club Brugge's German under-21 international striker Nicolo Tresoldi. After an excellent season, he too could move for around €50 million. Chelsea and Tottenham are also interested alongside United, but FC Barcelona are currently in the strongest position, so United may well miss out.
