Teriyaki Salmon
Pan-seared salmon glazed in a sticky homemade teriyaki sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 salmon fillets
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp sake
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- Sesame seeds and spring onion to garnish
Method
Mix the soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar and ginger to make the teriyaki sauce.
Heat the oil in a pan and sear the salmon skin-side down for 4 minutes until crisp.
Flip and cook for another 2 minutes, then pour in the teriyaki sauce.
Simmer, spooning the sauce over the salmon, until glossy and slightly thickened.
Garnish with sesame seeds and spring onion, and serve with steamed rice.
