Is Dominik Szoboszlai one of the players undermining Arne Slot?
The atmosphere at Anfield has reached a boiling point as several high-profile players face heavy criticism for Liverpool's current struggles. According to Lewis Steele, a journalist closely connected to the club, the situation is dire. Steele claims that Mo Salah, Hugo Ekitiké, and Dominik Szoboszlai have significantly let down manager Arne Slot during a crucial period of the season.
The Hungarian captain, who arrived with massive expectations, is now being scrutinized for his consistency as the team's performance continues to dip. But Szoboszlai isn't the only one under fire. In a recent interview with Football Insider, former Manchester United scout Mick Brown offered an even harsher assessment, naming three different stars who he believes have "thrown the manager under the bus."
"The Seniors Have Failed Him" Brown specifically pointed the finger at the veteran core of the squad, including Virgil van Dijk, Mo Salah, and Ibrahima Konaté.
"Several senior players have badly let Slot down. Van Dijk and Konaté contributed so much to past successes, but they are performing very poorly this season. Salah's situation is well-known; he is leaving at the end of the season anyway..." Brown stated.
He further argued that if Liverpool FC decides to sack Arne Slot, the club must also investigate the responsibility of the players who created this toxic environment through their lack of effort on the pitch.
The Shadow of Xabi Alonso As the pressure mounts on the Dutch manager, rumors regarding his successor are already intensifying. According to reports from TEAMtalk, if the defending Premier League champions decide to make a change, Xabi Alonso is the primary candidate to take over the reins.
The former Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid coach has reportedly already been contacted by the Liverpool hierarchy. While Slot is still in the dugout for now, the combined weight of poor results and alleged player revolts involving stars like Szoboszlai and Salah might make a coaching change inevitable before the season concludes.
